LOCAL YOUTH MINISTRY
We are committed to the development of ministry to youth in Alaska.
The vast majority of communities throughout Alaska do not have full-time youth workers. It is thanks to many volunteers and community members that young people are being shown the love of Christ. We want to do whatever we can to encourage, support, resource and connect these volunteers across the state.
​This looks many different ways:

Regional Youth Events

Regional youth events to serve as weekends of encouragement and growth for junior and senior high schoolers throughout the year. At these retreats, students travel from all across their region to Covenant church sites for a weekend of crazy games, great fellowship, and an opportunity to hear the gospel message. 

Through these events, we are able to continue to build relationships with the local church and community, and find ways to work together to reach youth and young adults with the message of Christ. CYAK's regional youth retreats are highly anticipated, and we are excited to continue to interact with youth in this way!

Mentoring Initiatives

Many of us have experienced the positive impact of mentorship. We know that through intergenerational relationships, wisdom, care, tradition, love, accountability, and many other values can significantly shape and form young people. Traditionally in Native culture, knowledge was passed from one generation to another through camping experiences and extended time together. These mentoring spaces are intended to provide practical skills while building relationships and discipling youth and young people in the way of Christ.

Youth Ministry Training

CYAK provides in-person training for volunteer youth workers in communities across the state. These trainings can be geared toward whatever area of youth ministry is the greatest need. We also are able to work with a church to provide strategic planning for a particular youth ministry site. We are dedicated to helping churches and communities succeed in reaching youth in Alaska!

Team Conference Call
