Bible Camp Memorial
Tom's journey with Covenant Bible Camp began in his early years as a camper. As a high school student, he attended our first student leader retreat, where he was inspired to start a Bible study on his dorm floor at Mt. Edgcumbe. It was at Bible Camp that he grew in his guitar skills, eventually becoming our go-to worship leader. One particularly memorable experience he shared was a powerful encounter with the palpable presence of Jesus while worshiping alone in the CYAK house in Fairbanks.
As a young adult, through the guidance of mentors, he grew into a leader of strong character. His love for leading worship and preaching the Word was evident, and he was a dedicated student of the Bible. For many of our young people, Tom was a role model. He lived out what it means to be truly devoted to Christ.
Tom leaves behind a significant void on this earth and within our team. Yet, we take comfort in knowing that he is now in the daily presence of Christ and completely healed. We are deeply grateful for the time God gave us with Tom and for the legacy he leaves behind.
Tom's life exemplifies what CYAK is all about—sharing the love and hope of Christ with Alaska’s youth and young adults. As we continue this mission, I pray we will be diligent in raising more leaders like Tom for Alaska.
