"ASIST is hands down the best suicide prevention and intervention training I know of for our context. I have attended at least 4 different suicide prevention trainings in my ministry career and most of the trainings focus on creating a safe situation and referring out immediately. Unfortunately, in the villages, there is often nobody to refer a suicidal young person to. As CYAK workers, often we ARE the front lines of suicide prevention and intervention; we ARE the ones that others refer suicidal young people to. I have personally used the ASIST model to intervene with suicidal youth and it has been an invaluable resource. I cannot highly enough recommend this training for anyone working with village young people." – Adam London
