Arigaa Young Adult Ministry
Arigaa! It is
good ...
We call ourselves
“Arigaa.” Translated, this Inupiaq word means, “sweet,” or “so
good.” We call ourselves Arigaa because fellowship with God, with His
Word, and with His people is sweet. Arigaa is one of CYAK’s ministries aimed
towards rural Alaskan college-age folks, and their friends. We have
three different Arigaa communities, one at the University of Alaska–Anchorage,
the University of Alaska–Fairbanks, and Job Corps in Palmer.
Each one of these young adult groups meets weekly for Bible
study, shared meals, and fellowship with one another. It is a great place to
meet new people, learn about the Lord, grow in your faith, and have fun! If you
have friends or family at one of these schools, tell them about us! We love to
see new people get involved in the ministry!

UAA, UAF, and Job Corps might not be for you. If you are interested in living in a supportive Christian environment, while learning a trade or earning college credit, there are opportunities for that as well!
Check out Alaska Christian College, a school in Soldotna
whose mission is to offer Christ-centered and general studies education,
provide a culturally relevant community that cares for the individual needs of
each student, and model Godly character in every day living.
Or apply to Amundsen Educational Center in Soldotna. AEC
operates three educational departments: Building Hope Construction, New
Frontier Vocational Technical Center, and Career Skills Institute.
One of the best parts of this partnership of ministries is
that two times a year, students from UAA, UAF, Job Corps, ACC, and AEC all come
together for a retreat at Big Lake. We have an awesome time hearing great speakers,
spending time outside, eating Native food, playing basketball, and so much more!
